Rishad Shafi & Gunesh [Гунеш] (Progressive Jazz Rock/Fusion {Turquemenistão})

A banda foi estabelecida ainda no Turquemenistão Soviético como banda vocal

com alguns músicos de apoio da Companhia Estatal de Rádio e Televisão do Turcomenistão.

Mais tarde, mais jovens músicos vieram tocar e a música da banda se tornou mais moderna.

Naquela época, o estilo característico era formado como mistura de

tradicionais mughams da Ásia Central e arranjos de jazz-rock.

Com essa música, a banda participou de alguns festivais populares em torno da União Soviética,

recebeu alguns troféus e se tornou popular.

Seu primeiro LP foi lançado em 1980 na gravadora estatal soviética Melodyja

e continha música tradicional da Ásia Central em arranjos de jazz-rock.

O segundo LP foi lançado após 4 anos.

A música era mais moderna e se tornou muito popular em todo o país.

Mais tarde, esses dois LPs foram relançados no CD "Rishad Shafi presents Gunesh".

A banda participou de muitos festivais de jazz em toda a Europa Oriental, África e Ásia Central.

O segundo CD (ou terceiro álbum) foi gravado apenas em 1990.

O line-up foi mudado muitas vezes, cerca de 65 músicos foram membros da banda,

em diferentes épocas.

The band was established still in Soviet Turkmenistan as vocal band

with some support musicians by Turkmenistan State Radio and TV Company.

Later more young musicians came to play and band's music became more modern.

At that time characteristic style was formed as mix of

traditional Central Asian mughams and jazz-rock arrangements.

With such music, the band participated in some popular festivals around Soviet Union,

received some trophies and became popular.

Their first LP was released in 1980 at soviet state label Melodyja

and contained traditional central Asian music in jazz-rock arrangements.

Second LP was released after 4 years.

Music there was more modern, and it became very popular all around the country.

Later these two LP's were re-released on "Rishad Shafi presents Gunesh" CD.

Band participated in many jazz-festivals all around Eastern Europe, Africa and Central Asia.

Second CD ( or third album) was recorded in 1990 only.

The line-up was changed many times, around 65 musicians have been band's members,

in different times.
