O nome do álbum é "Dave Lindholm in English".

Nesse ponto, Ödner deixou a banda.

who has performed with many other well-known artists
in addition to his long career including bands Ferris and Orfeus.

FERRIS AND ITS STORY

Ferris was a Finnish band formed in 1969. The band recorded a demo, which was sent to Love Records, but the boys were advised to wait and practice for another year. At the time of the demo recording the band's name was still Ferris Wheel. But there were already three foreign bands called Ferris Wheel, so the band members decided to shorten the name to just Ferris.

The following year, Love Records let the band into the studio and the result was a self-titled LP that was released in 1971. Itävaara left the band around the same time the LP was released.

The album is a mix of progressive rock and hard blues rock with a great organ and guitar sound. The band is mostly remembered as Dave Lindholm's first band.

DAVE LINDHOLM AND HIS STORY

Dave “Isokynä” Lindholm (real name Ralf Henrik Lindholm, born March 31, 1952 in Helsinki) is a Finnish guitarist, singer and songwriter who has performed with many other well-known artists in addition to his long career. Dave from Helsinki moved to Tampere in the early 1980s.

Lindholm recorded several songs in Finnish and English. Lindholm's best known songs are "Pieni ja hento ote" ("Small and gentle squeeze"), "Jazzikansa tulee" ("Your jazz music will come"), "Sitähän se kaikki on" ("That's what it is") , "Kaikki menee seinään" ("Everything goes to the wall"), "Joo, joo, mä rakastan sua" ("Yes, yes, I love you"), "Sataa & 22" ("Rain & 22") and "Annan kitaran laulaa vaan” ("I let the guitar sing alone").

Dave Lindholm's first recording was with the band Ferris, who released their only album in 1971 on the Love Records label. In the winter of 1971-1972, Dave Lindholm took his songs to Love Records as Great Pen Lee. He was persuaded by the label to change the artist's name to Isokynä.

Of the first albums, "Isokynä Lindholm" (1972) and "Sirkus" (1973), especially the latter is considered a Finnish rock classic.

IIn the fall of 1973, Dave Lindholm joins the band Orfeus, and together they begin work on their first album "Musiikkia", released in June 1974. The album was recorded at Finnvox Studios, Helsinki, Finland, between February and April. 1974. Later that year, the album "Lillan", recorded at the band's second final concert in July 1974.

In 1975 Lindholm founded the Rock'n'Roll Band, where he sang in English. This formation had a short life. In 1979 Lindholm released her solo album "Vanha & uusi romanssi". In the same year, he co-founded Bluesounds with Ari Vaahtera, recording an English classic rock album entitled "Black" (1980).

During the summer of 2006, Lindholm set up a lineup of Dave Lindholm (vocals and guitars), Maria Hänninen (vocals and bass), Sir Lampard (guitar) and Anssi Nykänen (drums). The lineup featured some of the most well-known English songs of Lindholm's career, including "I'm gonna roll" and "T.H.E. world". The tour recorded a live album released in November 2006. The recordings are from Tavastia (a rock club located in Kamppi, Helsinki on Urho Kekkonen Street) on June 28, 2006 and Kesäkaivarin konsertista (Summer Concert) in July 17, 2006. The name of the album is "Dave Lindholm in English".

In 2006 Lindholm received the State Composition Award for her long and uncompromising career. This was the 35th anniversary of Lindholm's first album. In 2009, he received the Juha Vainio award. In 2011, Emma-Gaalassa awarded Lindholm the "Erikois-Emman" ("Special Emma"). He was described as: "A true blues man, the basis of Finnish blues and rock" ("Aito bluesmies, suomalaisen bluesin ja rockin peruskallio").

In 2012 Lindholm released three albums: two with Dave L.B. Inventive and one with his brother Calle Lindholm. In 2013, he released an album in Finnish after a four-year break: "Ken elää, ken näkee. Ken B.". In 2015, Dave L.B. Inventive released its third album, "Behind shades", and Lindholm released his solo album, "Ajaton on ajoissa".

ORFEUS

Orfeus began its activity in the early 70's. Initially, the band mainly played progressive rock, but their style of music varied throughout their career. As a band Orfeus, unfortunately, has never released an album. As a backing band, the band released two albums along with Dave Lindholm: "Musiikkia" (1974) and "Lillan" (1974).

STORY OF ORFEUS

The band's first lineup includes Hannu 'Kalahande' Salakka (guitar), Hessu Hiekkala (keyboards), Klaus Stolt (bass) and Vando Suvanto (drums). Then Zape Leppä and Muska Babitz (vocals) appeared. Then Salakka was replaced by Janne Ödner. This January 1972 line-up is the one that appears on the compilation album "Jee yee yee" and "Suomi-rockin arkistoaarteita" ("Finnish Rock Archives") from 1998 (Siboney).

Dave Lindholm joined the band in the fall of 1973 and the following spring they recorded their first album "Musiikkia" (1974). At this point, Ödner left the band. The next album "Lillan" (1974) was recorded at the band's second final show in July 1974. In the last days of the band, Lindholm's brother Calle Lindholm also performed occasionally with the band.

Pop-Liisa's set was recorded on January 9, 1973 and is a great document of what happened to Orfeus before the albums with Dave Lindholm. Although there are only four songs, it is a diverse selection of different styles, from blues to progressive rock. As such, it couldn't better describe a band that changed its sound many times during its short existence.
