Light - The story of Moses - 1972 (Progressive Rock {Países Baixos})

Nessa formação, eles começaram a escrever seu único álbum, "The story of Moses".

The progressive rock band Light comes from the city of Gouda, a Dutch city in the province of South Holland, and was initially called Light Formation. At first, the band's members were Joop Slootjes (bass), Adrie Vergeer (keyboards), Sjaco van der Speld (drums) and Gerard Steenbergen (guitar). Then the name was shortened to Light and added Hans de Bruin (saxophone, flute) and drummer Sjako van der Speld (of Avalanche). In this lineup, they began writing their only album, "The story of Moses". The band had the collaboration of guitarist Hans Hollestelle (who later played in the band Spin), and bassist Guus Willemse (of Solution).

Long before the term "Christian prog rock" appeared, Light recorded and released this album on biblical themes. The album tells the story of Moses, who freed the Israelites from slavery of Egypt and led them to the promised land, Canaan. This album is a treasure trove of Dutch prog-rock, although it was released on a Spanish label. The song is inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach, but unlike groups like Ekseption, Light creates their own compositions. A lot of instruments were used, along with the impressive list of keyboards, guitar, bass, saxophone, flute and drums that make up its complex sound.
