Callinan-Flynn - Freedom's lament - 1972 (Folk Rock {Irlanda})

O álbum foi gravado no
Chalk Farm Studios, Londres, em 1972,
com Kieran O'Connor (Second Hand,
Moving Finger) na bateria e Romey Young
na harpa judaica. Foi publicado pelo selo
Mushroom em uma pequena edição de
apenas 200 cópias. As cópias irlandesas
da Dolphin Records (que contariam pelo
menos 500) usam encartes com etiqueta
do Mushroom, de modo que mais de
200 encartes do Mushroom

na série "Blast from the past".
Dave Callinan agora é mais
conhecido como
romancista e roteirista.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The album was recorded
at Chalk Farm Studios, London,
in 1972, with Kieran O'Connor (Second
HandMoving Finger) on drums and
Romey Young on the Jewish harp.
It was published by the Mushroom
label in a small edition of just
200 copies. Dolphin Records'
Irish copies (which would contain
at least 500) use Mushroom-labeled
sleeves, so more than 200 Mushroom
sleeves were printed.

About half of the album's tracks
are very strong folk rock in the Irish tradition.
The rest has a more contemporary feel.
It is important to note that only three
tracks have commercial credit,
the rest are original from the group.
Many of the songs have a political
connotation, but it doesn't deserve
the "rebel folk" tag given it
in some quarters.

The LP's current asking price
of over € 200 makes most collectors
content with the CD reissue released by
the UFO in the "Blast from the past" series.
Dave Callinan is now best known as
a novelist and screenwriter.
