STORY

The first album "Framus Five + Michal Prokop", with a soul repertoire, reflected a strong African-American influence: Framus Five was mainly inspired by Ray Charles.

In 1970 came guitarist Luboš Andršt and drummer Karel Káša Jahn, who contributed significantly to the success of the famous LP "Město ER", recorded with a symphonic orchestra and lyrics by Josef Kainar. With normalization beginning in 1971, the band was disbanded and the album "Město ER", containing an extensive title track in Josef Kainar's lyrics, was removed from distribution. There was an absolute ban on English songs and band names, which also affected the band Blue Effect, whose name had to be Czech. Meanwhile, Michal Prokop briefly served as a guest in the group Šest Strýců, and also performed with Eva Pilarová. He also performed on Hana Zagorová's program and appeared in the Semafor theater as an actor on the famous "Kytici" ("Bouquet").

In 1978 the band was renewed under the name Framus 5. In 1984 they met with poet Pavel Šrut and composer Petr Skoumal. This collaboration gave rise to one of the best Czech albums of the 1980s, "Kolej yesterday". Framus 5 became one of the most accepted bands of the 1980s and significantly influenced at least two generations of rock audiences.

The next stage of the band Framus Five was in 2006, formed by: Luboš Andršt, Jan Hrubý, Jan Kolář and Pavel Drešer, accompanied by younger musicians Pavel Razím, Jiří Šíma, Roman Němec and Zden Zk Wimpy Tichota. However, Michal Prokop had his first musical comeback in 2000 with Michal Prokop & Friends band formed by: Michal Prokop, Luboš Andršt, Jan Hála, Zdeněk Tichota, Michal Hejna and Rostislav Fraš.
