We all Together (Psychedelic Pop Rock {Perú})

We all Together foi uma banda de pop rock peruana formada em 1971, em Lima. O grupo foi inspirado em The Beatles e na carreira solo de Paul McCartney, no entanto, algo que chama sua atenção é a semelhança do vocalista Carlos Guerrero com Paul McCartney.

O grupo teve muitos seguidores e shows, desfrutando de grande popularidade nos anos 70, apesar de o governo já ter proibido o rock no Perú - paradoxalmente, nesta década, seria o local onde as maiores jóias do rock latino-americano seriam encontradas.

HISTÓRIA

Formada em 1971 em Lima, a banda era composta inicialmente por Carlos Guerrero (voz), Saúl Cornejo (guitarra), Ernesto Samamé (baixo), Carlos Salom (órgão) e Manuel Cornejo (bateria). O grupo nasceu sem nome, no meio das sessões de gravação no estúdio MAG, de propriedade do pai de Carlos Guerrero. Todos os membros, com exceção de Carlos Guerrero, vieram do grupo Laghonia, Carlos participou com eles na gravação e na apresentação de coros de seu último trabalho, "Etcetera".

A banda fez um álbum praticamente anônimo, cantado em inglês, que era a moda da época. O álbum de estréia do então quinteto foi chamado "We all Together" (1972). Ele incluiu versões de "Carry on till tomorrow" e "Walk out in the rain", da banda britânica Badfinger, "Some people never know" e "Tomorrow" de Paul McCartney, além de seis músicas próprias.

A música da We all Together foi colocada nas preferências das estações de rádio de Lima e vendeu muitas cópias naquele ano. Apesar de cantar em inglês (como a maioria dos grupos peruanos da época) e de estar em pleno governo militar de Juan Velasco Alvarado, ela foi declarada a melhor banda nacional de pop rock do INC, graças à sua música "Hey revolution", cover do tema "Revolution 1" da The Beatles.

No segundo álbum, houve uma mudança de tecladista e baixista, Carlos Salom sendo substituído por Felix Varvarande e Ernesto Samamé por Braulio Vivanco. O grupo continuou a cantar em inglês, mas a novidade do álbum era que todas as músicas eram de autoria da banda, tornando seu estilo mais evidente e onde músicas como "Ozzy" e "Persons and faces" se destacavam.

Houve um terceiro trabalho lançado no formato mini-LP , que incluiu sua primeira música em espanhol, que imediatamente se tornou um sucesso. A música se tornou um marco, não apenas para o Rock peruano, mas para a música peruana em geral. Em 1974, a banda se separou.

RETORNO

Em 1989 , após 15 anos, ela retomou às atividades. Inicialmente, a proposta era reunir os cinco membros originais, mas os irmãos Cornejo desistiram do projeto e retornaram ao campo como um trio (Guerrero, Samamé e Varvarande), com o apoio de músicos na guitarra e bateria. Diferentemente do primeiro período, durante o qual ela se dedicou exclusivamente à gravação e realizou apenas um grande concerto, desde aquele ano a banda realizou várias apresentações em todo o país.

Ela gravou o álbum "1990, la década", onde ela deixou uma grande influência do pop rock britânico pós-Beatles. O álbum de retorno foi seguido por uma série de trabalhos em discos, onde os mais relevantes foram "Cincuenta/cincuenta" e "Quédate". A formação na época era composta por Carlos Guerrero, Ernesto Samamé, Felix Varvarande, Carlos Pacheco e Chayo Saldarriaga. Apesar das mudanças e tragédias, a We all Together permaneceu em vigor.

Como qualquer grupo de vanguarda, em suas pesquisas musicais, seu estilo sofreu uma mudança e, no álbum "Pa' todo el mundo" (1994), a banda explorou mambo, bolero, socca e soul latino, que não tiveram o efeito esperado e, além da falta de convicção de si mesmos, isto levou os seguidores do estilo clássico da banda a deixarem-na.

Após algumas compilações e alguns trabalhos tentando retomar a onda melódica do grupo, foi gravado "Aliteraciones" (1998), no qual a banda fez música romântica com arranjos de violoncelo e violino, tentando retornar às origens.

Depois disso, o grupo fez outra pausa, mas não por muito tempo, e juntou-se novamente em 2001, com Guerrero e Samamé, do grupo original, junto com Carlos Pacheco, o guitarrista que o acompanha desde 1990. Félix Varvarande deixou a We all Together por motivos de saúde.

Em março de 2006, a We all Together sofreu sua maior perda, quando Ernesto Samamé, baixista original, grande arranjador e amigo, morreu vítima de câncer, deixando um vazio inexplicável, mas uma marca indelével. Nessa fase, Guerrero e Samamé, estavam trabalhando em alguns projetos da banda, para os próximos anos. De tudo isso, existem algumas músicas gravadas em faixas e alguns vídeos editados postumamente. Na versão atual da We all Together, a vaga deixada por Ernesto foi preenchida por seu filho Eduardo.

Em meados de 2007, depois de trinta anos, três de seus membros originais (Carlos Guerrero, Manuel Cornejo e Saúl Cornejo) reentraram juntos nos estúdios de gravação para a produção de um novo álbum, que levou quase um ano para sua realização. O título do álbum seria "Back together". O material estava programado para entrar no mercado em meados de maio de 2008, mas, por diferentes razões, foi adiado.

Finalmente, em julho de 2009, lançaram o álbum sob o título de "Surprise", com o selo americano independente Soho Records, onde mais uma vez demonstram sua qualidade, destacando-se o tema "Sara".

Em janeiro de 2011, a banda comemorou 40 anos de formação e decidiu fazer um concerto de despedida celebrando todos esses anos fazendo música, e, tendo como convidados as bandas nacionais Telegraph Avenue e todos os amigos do grupo.

We all Together was a Peruvian pop rock band formed in 1971 in Lima. The group was inspired by The Beatles and Paul McCartney's solo career, however, something that catches his eye is the similarity of singer Carlos Guerrero to Paul McCartney.

The group had many followers and shows, enjoying wide popularity in the 1970s, although the government already banned rock music in Peru - paradoxically, on this decade would be where the greatest gems of Latin American rock would be found.

STORY

Formed in 1971 in Lima, the band was initially composed of Carlos Guerrero (voice), Saúl Cornejo (guitar), Ernesto Samamé (bass), Carlos Salom (organ) and Manuel Cornejo (drums). The group was born without a name, in the middle of recording sessions at the MAG studio, owned by Carlos Guerrero's father. All members except Carlos Guerrero came from the Laghonia group, Carlos participated with them in recording and performing choirs for his latest work, "Etcetera".

The band made a virtually anonymous album, sung in English, which was the fashion of the time. The quintet's debut album was called "We all Together" (1972). It included versions of Badfinger's "Carry on till tomorrow" and "Walk out in the rain", Paul McCartney's "Some people never know" and "Tomorrow" as well as six songs of their own.

We all Together's music was placed in the preference of Lima radio stations and sold many copies that year. Despite singing in English (like most Peruvian groups of the time) and being in full military rule by Juan Velasco Alvarado, it was declared the best national pop rock band of INC, thanks to her song "Hey revolution", cover. from The Beatles' "Revolution 1" theme.

On the second album, there was a change of keyboardist and bassist, Carlos Salom being replaced by Felix Varvarande and Ernesto Samamé by Braulio Vivanco. The group continued to sing in English, but the novelty of the album was that all songs were by the band, making their style more evident and where songs like "Ozzy" and "Persons and faces" stood out.

There was a third work released in mini-LP format, which included his first song in Spanish, which immediately became a hit. Music has become a landmark, not just for Peruvian rock, but for Peruvian music in general. In 1974, the band broke up.

RETURN

In 1989, after 15 years, it resumed activities. Initially, the proposal was to bring together the original five members, but the Cornejo brothers gave up the project and returned to the field as a trio (Guerrero, Samamé and Varvarande), with the support of guitarists and drums. Unlike the first period, during which it devoted herself exclusively to recording and performed only one major concert, since that year the band has performed several performances across the country.

It recorded the album "1990, la década", where it left a major influence on post-Beatles British pop rock. The comeback album was followed by a series of album works, the most significant of which were "Cincuenta/cincuenta" and "Quédate". The lineup at the time consisted of Carlos Guerrero, Ernesto Samamé, Felix Varvarande, Carlos Pacheco and Chayo Saldarriaga. Despite the changes and tragedies, We all Together remained in force.

Like any avant-garde group, in their music research, their style underwent a change and, on the album "Pa 'todo el mundo" (1994), the band explored Latin mambo, bolero, socca and soul, which did not have the expected effect and In addition to their lack of self-belief, this led the band's classic style followers to leave it.

After some compilations and some works trying to resume the melodic wave of the group, was recorded "Aliteraciones" (1998), in which the band made romantic music with cello and violin arrangements, trying to return to the origins.

After that, the group took another break, but not for long, and reunited again in 2001 with Guerrero and Samamé from the original group, along with Carlos Pacheco, the guitarist who has been with him since 1990. Félix Varvarande left We all Together for health reasons.

In March 2006, We all Together suffered its biggest loss when Ernesto Samamé, original bassist, great arranger and friend, died of cancer, leaving an unexplained void but an indelible mark. At this stage, Guerrero and Samamé were working on some of the band's projects for the next few years. Of all this, there are some tracks recorded music and some posthumously edited videos. In the current version of We all Together, the vacancy left by Ernesto was filled by his son Eduardo.

In mid-2007, after thirty years, three of its original members (Carlos Guerrero, Manuel Cornejo and Saúl Cornejo) reentered the recording studios together for the production of a new album, which took almost a year to make. The album title would be "Back together". The material was scheduled to enter the market in mid-May 2008, but for different reasons was postponed.

Finally, in July 2009, they released the album under the title "Surprise" with the American independent label Soho Records, where they once again demonstrate their quality, highlighting the theme "Sara".

In January 2011, the band celebrated 40 years of formation and decided to do a farewell concert celebrating all these years making music, and having as guests the national bands Telegraph Avenue and all friends of the group.
