Arkham - Arkham (1970-1972) - 2002 (Progressive Rock {Bélgica})

Arkham foi uma das lendas perdidas do rock progressivo europeu do início dos anos 70. A banda foi formada em Bruxelas em 1970 pelo tecladista Jean-Luc Manderlier e pelo baterista Daniel Denis, junto com um baixista. Eles foram provavelmente a banda de rock progressivo mais popular da Bélgica durante sua vida, tocando em vários shows e festivais. Mas, a banda acabou em 1972, quando Christian Vander convidou Daniel e Jean-Luc para se juntar a Magma. Jean-Luc ficou por algum tempo, tocando em seu álbum "Mekanïk destructïw kommandöh", enquanto Daniel ficou por pouco tempo até, finalmente, retornar à Bélgica e fundar a Univers Zero.

Apesar de sua popularidade e influência, devido ao seu falecimento precoce, nenhuma gravação foi lançada na época. Então, em 2002 a Cuneiform Records decidiu lançar este álbum que inclui gravações de apresentações da banda durante sua atividade entre os anos 1970-1972, além de um livreto de 8 páginas com fotos impressionantes do período e uma breve história da banda, escrita por Daniel & Jean-Luc. As fitas foram rematerizadas por Didier de Roos no Fields Studio, Bélgica, em junho de 2001.

Arkham was one of the lost legends of European progressive rock in the early 1970s. The band was formed in Brussels in 1970 by keyboardist Jean-Luc Manderlier and drummer Daniel Denis, along with a bassist. They were probably the most popular progressive rock band in Belgium during their lifetime, playing at various shows and festivals. But, the band ended in 1972, when Christian Vander invited Daniel and Jean-Luc to join Magma. Jean-Luc stayed for a while, playing on his album "Mekanïk destructïw kommandöh", while Daniel stayed for a short time until, finally, he returned to Belgium and founded Univers Zero.

Despite his popularity and influence, due to his early demise, no record was released at the time. Then, in 2002 Cuneiform Records decided to release this album which includes recordings of the band's performances during their activity between the years 1970-1972, as well as an 8-page booklet with impressive photos from the period and a brief history of the band, written by Daniel & Jean-Luc. The tapes were remafered by Didier de Roos at Fields Studio, Belgium, in June 2001.
