"We had to let you have it" is a discreet release, with above average guitar and drum work. A mix of soul, R&B, rock, blues rock, with small forays into jazz and hints of proto-prog rock. In his short career, Noir opened shows for The Rolling Stones and Cream.
In 1970, the band spent months completing the recordings for this album, which was originally released on the Dawn label. How they got there and where it is still a mystery. The band split up before finishing the album and disappeared from the studio - all attempts to discover its whereabouts have failed. The song was too good to be left on a shelf and the label released it anyway, hence the album title "We had to let you have it".
