HISTÓRIA
Derivada da banda Festa Mobile, Il Baricentro foi formada em Bari, do qual provém seu nome, mas operou mais na área de Roma, onde escolheu um estilo muito diferente da precedente, concentrando-se em um jazz-rock instrumental, gênero muito difuso na Itália na segunda metade dos anos 70.
Ambos os seus discos foram publicados pela EMI em 1976 e 1978, e mostram fortes influências de grupos estrangeiros como Weather Report ou a The Mahavishnu Orchestra, junto a elementos tipicamente mediterrâneos mais evidentes em "Trusciant".
A banda se dissolveu logo após o segundo álbum, reformando-se por um breve período como trio entre 1983 e 1984 e produzindo autônamamente um single de estampa funky-disco. Os irmãos Boccuzzi permaneceram no âmbito musical trabalhando como sessionmen.

HISTORY
Derived from the band Festa Mobile, Il Baricentro was formed in Bari, from which it takes its name, but operated more in the Rome area, where it chose a very different style from its predecessor, focusing on instrumental jazz-rock, a very diffuse genre in Italy in the second half of the 1970s.
Both of their records were published by EMI in 1976 and 1978, and show strong influences from foreign groups such as Weather Report or The Mahavishnu Orchestra, along with typically Mediterranean elements more evident in "Trusciant".
The band disbanded shortly after the second album, reforming briefly as a trio between 1983 and 1984 and autonomously producing a funky-disco single. The Boccuzzi brothers remained in the musical field working as sessionmen.
