Fantasia - Fantasia - 1975 (Progressive Rock {Finlândia})

A St. Marcus Blues Band se tornou mais experimental. O novo estilo musical, rock progressivo, tornou-se popular nos anos setenta. Bandas como Genesis, Yes, Mahavishnu Orchestra eram grandes influências, e o nome foi mudado para um nome mais adequado: Fantasia.
No começo, os membros da Fantasia eram quase os mesmos que em STMBB: Jukka "Juki" Halttunen (guitarra), Markku Lönngren (baixo), Paavo Osola (teclados), Karl-Erik Rönngård (tambores) e Hannu Lindblom (guitarra e vocais).
Muito em breve, por causa de divergências musicais, houve uma mudança de line-up, e no final de 1973, a nova banda nasceu: Roul Helantie (teclados, violino, violão), Hannu Lindblom (guitarra, vocais), Harri Piha (baixo) e Karl-Erik Rönngård (bateria).

Esta line-up venceu o campeonato finlandês de rock em 1974 e ganhou muita publicidade e shows. Um contrato de gravação com a Hi-Hat também fez parte da vitória.
O álbum foi lançado em 1975, produzido por Mikael Wiik e Ronnie Österberg.
O disco chamado "Fantasia" é hoje muito popular entre os colecionadores, muitas vezes avaliado em centenas de euros.
Como a popularidade da progmusic desapareceu no final dos anos setenta, e como a Hi-Hat Records não estava disposta a fazer um novo disco, a frustração na banda levou a outra mudança na equipe.
O baixista Harri Piha se juntou ao grupo, e como muitos outros neste período de tempo, ele se mudou para a Suécia, buscando "eventos maiores".
Roul Helantie mudou para baixo e o tecladista se tornou Paavo Osola, já conhecido desde a STMBB.
Em 1976 a banda fez uma pequena turnê russa (Leningrado - Riga - Moscou), e depois da turnê se juntou a um quinto membro; o tecladista Mikko Laine. 
Roul Helantie poderia se concentrar mais no violino elétrico e no sintetizador ARP.
Pouco depois, o baterista Karl-Erik Rönngård, os tecladistas Paavo Osola e Mikko Laine deixaram a banda. Novos membros entraram: o baterista Thomas Lindström, o guitarrista Timo Hautamäki e o tecladista Ronnie Ehrs.
Em 1979 houve outra mudança de formação: Hannu Lindblom (guitarra, vocais), Pekka Jusslin (violão), Hannu Pirttimaa (baixo), Ronnie Ehrs (teclados), Thomas Lindström (bateria).

Depois de alguns anos, era hora de voltar "ao básico" ou musicalmente de volta a Fantasia, então STMBB foi recriado.
O CD duplo da STMBB lançado em 2007, chamado “Two sides”, contém músicas que parecem terem sido feitas pela Fantasia. Mesmo após as músicas gravadas, uma mudança de nome foi considerada, mas o "blues" sobre todos os sentimentos deixou-os sem escolha: a Blues Band de St. Marcus, mais tarde abreviado para STMBB.

The St. Marcus Blues Band has become more experimental. The new musical style, progressive rock, became popular in the seventies. Bands like Genesis, Yes, Mahavishnu Orchestra were great fluencies, and the name was changed to a more appropriate name: Fantasia.
At the beginning, Fantasy members were almost the same as in STMBB: Jukka "Juki" Halttunen (guitar), Markku Lönngren (bass), Paavo Osola (keyboards), Karl-Erik Rönngård (drums) and Hannu Lindblom ).
Soon after, due to musical divergences, there was a change of line-up, and at the end of 1973, the new band was born: Roul Helantie (keyboards, violin, guitar), Hannu Lindblom (guitar, vocals), Harri Piha bass) and Karl-Erik Rönngård (drums).

This line-up won the Finnish rock league in 1974 and won a lot of publicity and shows. A recording deal with Hi-Hat was also part of the win.
The album was released in 1975, produced by Mikael Wiik and Ronnie Österberg.
The disc called "Fantasia" is now very popular among collectors, often rated at hundreds of euros.
As progmusic's popularity disappeared in the late seventies, and as Hi-Hat Records was unwilling to make a new album, frustration in the band led to another change in the team.
Bassist Harri Piha joined the group, and like many others in this period of time, he moved to Sweden for "bigger events."
Roul Helantie switched down and the keyboard player became Paavo Osola, already known from early of STMBB.
In 1976 the band made a small Russian tour (Leningrad - Riga - Moscow), and after the tour joined a fifth member; the keyboardist Mikko Laine. Roul Helantie could focus more on the electric violin and the ARP synthesizer.
Shortly thereafter, drummer Karl-Erik Rönngård, keyboardists Paavo Osola and Mikko Laine left the band. New members joined: drummer Thomas Lindström, guitarist Timo Hautamäki and keyboardist Ronnie Ehrs.
In 1979 there was another change in lineup: Hannu Lindblom (guitar, vocals), Pekka Jusslin (guitar), Hannu Pirttimaa (bass), Ronnie Ehrs (keyboards), Thomas Lindström (drums).

After a few years, it was time to go back "to the basics" or musically back to Fantasia, so STMBB was recreated.
The double CD of the STMBB released in 2007, called "Two sides", contains songs that seem made by Fantasia. Even after the songs recorded, a name change was considered, but the "blues" on all feelings left them no choice: the St. Marcus Blues Band, later abbreviated to STMBB.
