In August of 1968, a single left, and the girls were waiting for a stellar glory. Everyone waited and waited... The song "Feeling high" received good reviews in the press and played in Radio Luxembourg and Manks Radio, but the publicity and sales of the single were not enough to enter the charts. The band had a guitarist from South Africa, whose family moved to Dublin: his name was David Williams, and he studied at Trinity College.

However, the plans were not meant to materialize and, in the summer of 1973, the Mellow Candle ceased to exist.
Each member of the group went their own way. David and Alison went to South Africa to play folk and formed the group Flibbertigibbet releasing the only album "Whistling jigs to the moon" in 1978 in the record company Stanyan Records. Clodagh collaborated with Mike Oldfield and Jade Warrior, then moved to New York to study music and returned to Ireland several years later. William Murray played Richard and Linda Thompson's Sour Grapes and toured with Sandy Denny. He went to America after Clodagh and formed The Same group with her. The Same played on Thursdays at the famous New York club, CBGB. Murray now lives in Dallas and works as a photographer. Sometimes his work appears in the magazine Playboy. David and Alison also built a career separately. Alison participated in Tortue Reviews and other South African shows. She now lives in England. David also leads the light music department at the South African Broadcasting Corporation in Cape Town, and also works as a producer.
