O ano de 1975 rendeu uma das primeiras óperas-rock que abordou tópicos gays. Everyhead, um projeto ambicioso inspirado na peça medieval "Everyman", apresentou-se pela primeira vez no palco em Hollywood, Califórnia, em 1975, em locais secretos subterrâneos, a fim de proteger as identidades de seu elenco - que usava máscaras ornamentadas de seus personagens.

As máscaras foram "usadas para esconder as identidades do elenco, para não serem reconhecidas e possivelmente detidas pelo vice-esquadrão de Hollywood por realizar 'obscenidades' em público".
