F.F.N. (Formatia Fara Nume) - Zece pași - 1975 (Progressive Rock {Romênia})

A história da FFN começou no ano de 1971, no Club A, um clube de Arquitetura. Cada membro veio de alguma outra banda conhecida, juntando-se à FFN e tornando-a um supergrupo. Os membros iniciais foram: Cristi Madolciu (vocal, guitarra, percussão [vindo de Sfera e Dynacord]), Florin Dumitru (bateria [vindo de Modern Grup, Phoenix e Mondial]), Doru Donciu (vocal, flauta [vindo de Coral]), Radu Stoica (vocal [vindo de Mondial]), Gabi Litvin (guitarra solo, vocal [vindo de Barzii e Mondial), Silviu Olaru (baixo [vindo de Grup 22 e Andantino]), Serban Bolintineanu (órgão [vindo de Grup 22 e Dynacord]).

Os membros moravam na mesma área de Bucareste e se conheceram na cena musical local. Durante o tempo que estiveram no Club A, os membros não ficaram satisfeitos com as sugestões apresentadas, pelos próprios, para nomear a banda. Então, alguém lhes sugere Formatia Fara Nume (Formação Sem Nome) e, a partir de então, eles passam a adotar o nome.

O primeiro grande show da FFN, foi o Rock Festival organizado pela TVR no Palace Hall (Sala Palatului) em 1973. A banda levou o 1º prêmio. Dentre as bandas que também se apresentaram no evento, estavam: Phoenix, Roșu și Negru, Sfinx e Progresiv TM.

Ainda no início de suas atividades, Radu Stoica e Serban Bolintineanu saem da banda, deixando-a com apenas 5 membros, que foi a fórmula básica até 1981. Entre o 2º LP ("Zi cu zi") e o 3º ("Un joc"), houve outra mudança: Doru Donciu saiu e Marcel Navala assumiu o posto nos vocais e baixo (vindo da Romanticii, Modern Grup). Silviu assumiu a segunda guitarra solo. Finalmente, no terceiro LP, outra mudança: Florin Dumitru e Marcel Navala foram embora e Lucian Rusu assume o posto de baterista. Silviu volta a tocar baixo.

Além dos três LPs, a banda lançou dois singles: "Chemare/Îndemn" (1974) e  "Noi/Primavara" (1978). Todos os lançamentos da banda foram muito bem recebidos no mercado da Romênia.

Cristian Madolciu também colaborou nas gravações de um dos maiores músicos de jazz da Romênia, Dan Mandrila. Gabi e Silviu mudara-se para Toronto. Lucian Rusu está em Ottawa, Marcel Navala na Filadélfia e, infelizmente, Florin Dumitru faleceu em 2002, em Los Angeles.

The history of FFN began in 1971 at Club A, an architecture club. Each member came from some other known band, joining the FFN and making it a supergroup. The members lived in the same area of ​​Bucharest and met on the local music scene. During their time at Club A, members were not satisfied with their own suggestions for naming the band. Then someone suggests Formatia Fara Nume (Unnamed Formation) and from then on they adopt the name.

At the very beginning of their activities, Radu Stoica and Serban Bolintineanu leave the band, leaving it with only 5 members, which was the basic formula until 1981. Between 2nd LP ("Zi cu zi") and 3rd ("Un joc"), there was another change: Doru Donciu left and Marcel Navala took the post on vocals and bass (coming from Romanticii, Modern Grup). Silviu took over the second solo guitar. Finally, on the third LP, another change: Florin Dumitru and Marcel Navala left, and Lucian Rusu takes over as drummer. Silviu plays the bass again.

In addition to the three LPs, the band released two singles: "Chemare/Îndemn" (1974) and "Noi/Primavara" (1978). All releases of the band were very well received in the Romanian market.

Cristian Madolciu also collaborated on recordings of one of Romania's greatest jazz musicians, Dan Mandrila. Gabi and Silviu had moved to Toronto. Lucian Rusu is in Ottawa, Marcel Navala in Philadelphia and unfortunately Florin Dumitru passed away in 2002 in Los Angeles.
