Não há muita informação disponível sobre esta banda, mas acredita-se que a banda tenha sua origem na Califórnia. O som é um folk-pop-rock com instrumentação acústica e elétrica e algumas harmonias vocais. O álbum gerou um single, "America, oui, oui/Finally home", visto apenas em uma prensagem holandesa (Columbia 1599).

Antes do álbum, Gentlehood gravou um punhado de músicas para o selo Zabad em 1970. O único lançamento desta época é "Gazebo (estéreo)/Gazebo (mono)" (Zabad 2525), que provavelmente é uma versão demo ou promo, porém várias dessas gravações de 1970 existem na internet. Há também uma gravação ao vivo de 14 minutos que pode ser encontrada na internet, "1975 Gentlehood live", na qual parece que a banda aumentou do trio retratado na capa interna do álbum para 5 membros. Esta gravação ao vivo apresenta apenas trechos de várias músicas de seu show no palco. Este, aqui no blog, é um lançamento russo não oficial de 2021.

Not a lot of information is available about this band, but it is believed that the band has its origin in California. The sound is a folk-pop-rock with acoustic and electric instrumentation and some vocal harmonies. The album spawned a single, "America, oui, oui/Finally home", only seen in a Dutch pressing (Columbia 1599). 

Prior to the album, Gentlehood recorded a handful of songs for the Zabad label in 1970. The only release from this era is "Gazebo (stereo)/Gazebo (mono)" (Zabad 2525) which is probably a demo or promo release, however several of these 1970 recordings exist internet. There is also a 14 minute live recording to be found on internet, "1975 Gentlehood live" in which it appears that the band had increased from the trio pictured on the inner gatefold sleeve of the album to 5 members. This live recording only features excerpts of several songs from their stage show. This one, here on the blog, is an unofficial Russian release from 2021.
