HISTÓRIA

Blue Phantom foi um projeto de Armando Sciascia. Como Blue Phantom, Armando lançou apenas um LP, que viria a se tornar um álbum popular entre os colecionadores europeus de psychedelic e progressive rock.

"Distortions" foi lançado na Itália em 1971, junto com um single, "Diodo/Uncle Jim", e posteriormente em outros países europeus, entre os quais a Inglaterra. Tanto o álbum quanto o single apareceram na Itália pelo selo Spider, subsidiário da Vedette. Todas as faixas foram compostas e tocadas por Armando Sciascia, utilizando o pseudônimo Tical. O álbum é inteiramente instrumental e mostra algumas influências dos sons psicodélicos do final da década de 1960 e início da década de 1970.

"Distortions" nunca foi relançado na Itália em vinil antes da edição da AMS/BTF em 2008 nos formatos vinil e CD. A versão em CD inclui duas faixas extras retiradas do single. Edições estrangeiras saíram um ano depois no Reino Unido (no Kaleidoscope - KAL 101 -, mais comum que a prensagem italiana e com capa diferente) e na França (intitulado "Distortions pop" no selo Sonimage - n° SI 801 -, creditado a H. Tical).

Existe uma falsificação da versão em inglês, com capa laminada idêntica à original, mas facilmente identificável pela etiqueta branca (a etiqueta original é amarela). Foram produzidos também dois CDs no exterior, ambos com a capa igual à do lançamento no Reino Unido: um primeiro de 1997 pelo selo alemão Golden Classics Rebirth (GRC 013, lançamento não-oficial), e outro de 2012 pelo selo inglês Kismet (KISCD 049), o último contendo "Uncle Jim" como faixa bônus.

Blue Phantom was a project by Armando Sciascia. As Blue Phantom, Armando released only one LP, which would become a popular album among European collectors of psychedelic and progressive rock.

"Distortions" was released in Italy in 1971, along with a single, "Diodo/Uncle Jim", and later in other European countries, including England. Both the album and the single appeared in Italy on the Spider label, a subsidiary of Vedette. All tracks were composed and performed by Armando Sciascia, using the pseudonym Tical. The album is entirely instrumental and shows some influences from the psychedelic sounds of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

"Distortions" was never re-released in Italy on vinyl before the AMS/BTF edition in 2008 in both vinyl and CD formats. The CD version includes two extra tracks taken from the single. Foreign editions came out a year later in the UK (on Kaleidoscope - KAL 101 -, more common than the Italian pressing and with a different cover) and in France (entitled "Distortions pop" on the Sonimage label - number SI 801 -, credited to H. Tical).

There is a forgery of the English version, with a laminated cover considering the original, but easily usable by the white label (the original label is yellow). Two CDs were also produced abroad, both with the same cover as the UK release: a first from 1997 by the German label Golden Classics Rebirth (GRC 013, unofficial release), and another from 2012 by the English label Kismet (KISCD 049), the latter containing "Uncle Jim" as a bonus track.
